MFAWUME YABWANYA PHIRI was born in Karonga district, in northern region of Malawi. He has stayed in South Africa for many years, where he was working as an Auto-body technician.
He is a Social Scientist. He has a Bachelor of Social Science in Development studies, which he obtained at the University of Livingstonia. He also holds Advanced Diploma in Community Development which he obtained from Mzuzu Techniacal college, examined by ABMA in the United Kingdom.
Mfawume has worked for Save the Children International and Institute of Integrated Women Development.
He has an Award Certificate of Being the best student with good behaviour among all out-going students in 2015, at University of Livingstonia Ekwendeni Campus.
