He is a holder of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the Law School of the University of Malawi.
Brigadier Mittawa has contributed to the development of soccer in Malawi both at amateur and professional level.
He has served as Chairman of Kamuzu Barracks football Club and assisted the club in its promotion from the regional league into the Super League.
Before that, he also served as Legal adviser and publicity secretary for Kamuzu Barracks Football Club.
He has served as Legal Advisor and Vice President for the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) for 4 years before being elected to the current position as President of the Super League of Malawi in 2024.
Through his work with SULOM, Brigadier Mittawa has helped Malawi’s top flight league in adopting vibrant changes in its administration and operations and hence making the league attractive to both supporters and sponsors.
