Dr Munthali is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary trained individual with a PhD Bioinformatics and
an MSc in Mathematical Sciences. He is experienced in teaching, research and coming up
innovative solutions in solving different problems. Dr Munthali brings his experience to bring
innovative solutions to challenges faced by grassroots soccer in Malawi and sports in general. He
will be in a position to hasten access, analysis, interpretation, understanding, and dissemination
of data or innovation solutions to tackle specific social, economic and other challenges faced by
the youth of Malawi and soccer/sports administration. He would apply some of the skills in big
data analytics to understand some of the important metrics for successful soccer players, which
he would work hand in hand with the soccer development coaches.
Dr Munthali is well placed to put the grassroots foundation and academy as a model for center of
excellence in using innovations in conducting its day-to-day operations from computerized
systems to energy efficient ecosystem. Dr Munthali is a passionate sports lover and an
internationally an avid Arsenal supporter while locally a real Manoma “Nyerere” fun. Dr
Munthali has studied and worked with diverse groups of people in Malawi, South Africa,
Canada, USA and UK.
