The Football Association of Malawi (FAM), with funding from FIFA, has established a Centre of soccer excellence at Chiwembe Area, in the city of Blantyre. Blantyre city is located to the southern region of the country, which is located to the northern tip of the country (refer to appendix section for map). There are no such facilities in the central and northern region.
The foundation’s academy (once established) will therefore work with FAM where different experts will receive training in various areas, more especially skills development and capacity building. These shall include Coaches, referees, sports administrators, team doctors and others.
